Our story begins in the Fall of 2017. Mike and Lexie both began their freshman year at THE Ohio State University. They had both elected to join Humanitarian Engineering Scholars, and would be living on the 9th and 8th floors in Drackett Tower. Despite having overlapping classes and friends, and being just one floor apart, they would never meet at Ohio State.

Fast forward to the Fall of 2022. Mike and Lexie had now begun their professional careers and had just moved into the 6th and 4th floors of The Bingham in downtown Cleveland. This time, living floors apart in the same building wouldn’t stop them from meeting.

On August 26th, 2022, Lexie and her friends were heading to the Flats and elected to take the penthouse elevator down into the flats. Coincidentally, Mike and his friends were doing the same thing and entered the same elevator. Both excited to make new friends, they began chatting on their way to the bars. They quickly realized they had both gone to Ohio State, and after Mike asked Lexie if she knew one of his friends, they realized how connected they really were. They exchanged numbers and the rest is history.

Mike proposed to Lexie on August 29th, 2025 on the Superior Viaduct in front of their families. The viaduct oversees much of Downtown Cleveland including the Cuyahoga River, the Flats, and the Bingham – where they originally met.
